Although I have retired from the workforce and am not likely to return, I found this book fascinating. I read it in two sittings. The writing style is clear and concise and easy to understand. It helped me as a Geezer understand my younger contemporaries especially my GenX son and daughter-in-law and GenY grandchildren. I highly recommend it. Meg Gerety

This book was very informative and described perfectly the differences between each generation, so even though my “company” is me, myself, and I, it was extremely helpful for dealing with all kinds of clients. It was also an eye opener to personal relationships with my own children, because whether we realize it or not we are different yet we are the same,and it is what we did to our children ourselves trying to be “better” parents than our own. For sure it is an eye opener for bettering ourselves for a brighter tomorow. I read it expecting to read more about social media, but got an unexpected bonus instead. Thanks, Teri Edgeworth

Geeks, Geezers, and Googlization speaks directly about the current workplace situation of cross generations and offers real word solutions to act upon today, with simple, straight forward examples and direction.

This is a must read for anyone, work place or not, becasue to me, this book learns form the past, works today and formulates action plans for tommorrow.

Geeks, Geezers and Googlization is an outstanding resource for executives and managers. Additionally, I would strongly recommend Dr. Wolfe’s text to any university or community college professor whose focus is management or human resources. It is a great supplement to current textbooks in these disciplines.

After managing a team that consisted of a college intern all the way through to someone who was the age that one would ‘traditionally’ retire, I had a first-hand crash course in how to communicate most effectively with each team member. I assumed this had a lot to do with age, but more to do with their personalities.

How wrong… and right I was…

Little did I know, I had just discovered the tip of the ice burg when it comes to managing multi-generational teams.

If I had this book, Geeks, Geezers & Googlization (GGG) by Ira S. Wolfe, last year, I would have been better informed about the mind-set of each generation, what matters most to them about work and how best to communicate, praise, engage and motivate….not just who likes email vs. IM vs. face-to-face conversations.

Geeks, Geezers, and Googlization is not only a very useful guide it is fun to read. The type is large and there is a lot of white space so it is easy for boomers to read. After only a few chapters I was filling in the gaps on the disconects, between me as a boomer and the younger staff, in a positive way.

Geeks, Geezers, and Googlization is a fascinating read – it really opened my eyes to the new business reality. But it doesn’t just talk in theory, it provides specific actions to take in order to be successful in a multi-generational workplace. Highly recommended!
